The Academic Council Meeting for the Month of January of 2025

In the meeting hall of Kandahar University’s Academic Council, a regular session of the council was held under the leadership of the university chancellor, Al-Haj Sheikh Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Tayebi. All members of the leadership, faculty heads, and several department heads attended the meeting.

The session began with the recitation of several verses from the Holy Quran. Following this, the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Associate Professor Dr. Ziaur Rahman Mashk Alimzai, welcomed the participants. He expressed gratitude to the faculty members and heads of faculties for their efforts in maintaining order and transparency during the final exams. He commended their adherence to rules and regulations and their dedication to ensuring discipline and transparency in the students' exams.

Subsequently, the Vice-Chancellor of the Research and Journals Department, Finance and Administration Affairs, and Student Affairs shared updates on their activities with the attendees. They also presented their plans for the future in certain areas.

Towards the end, the chancellor of Kandahar University, Al-Haj Sheikh Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Tayebi, expressed his satisfaction that the final exams were conducted with full transparency, discipline, and adherence to rules and regulations. He stated that, from the beginning of the exams until now, no student had lodged a complaint, indicating a harmonious, unified, and well-organized environment within the university. He further added that the university is making progress day by day. Mr. Tayebi also spoke about the importance of the Academic Council, emphasizing his happiness with the active participation of its members. He urged all members to participate actively, as the council is a platform for resolving important issues, sharing opinions, and fostering unity and cooperation among department heads.

It is worth mentioning that during this session, discussions were held on several important topics, including uploading students’ grades to the HEMIS system, preparing well for the upcoming semester, sending the list of graduates of the solar year 1402 (2023-2024) to the Ministry, and addressing other miscellaneous matters. After exchanging views, significant decisions were made on these issues.

At the end of the session, documents related to faculty appointments, academic promotions, and resignations were reviewed. Additionally, various other matters were discussed. The session concluded with a prayer.
