60 Doctors Equipped with Practical and Theoretical Knowledge Graduate from the Faculty of Medical and Are Introduced to Society for Service
After six years of academic journey, 60 doctors graduated from the Faculty of Medical at Kandahar University. To mark this significant milestone, a grand graduation ceremony was organized in the university's main conference hall, attended by Kandahar University officials, professors, scholars, and family members of the graduates.
The ceremony began with the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran. Initially, Dr. Ghulam Mohiuddin Madasir, Dean of the Faculty of Medical, welcomed everyone and congratulated the graduates. Addressing them, he said: “Your responsibilities have increased after graduation. You are the hope of society and the strength of the healthcare system. Afghanistan faces many challenges in the health sector, and the only solution lies in your hands. You must make Afghanistan self-sufficient in healthcare and provide proper treatment for the people.”
Next, Kandahar University Chancellor Sheikh Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Tayyibi welcomed all attendees and expressed his happiness that today the graduating doctors are returning to their communities, homeland, and villages equipped with invaluable academic knowledge. He remarked that this is a source of pride for the government, people, and society. He praised the efforts of all professors, acknowledging and appreciating their hard work. Addressing the graduates, he said: “Your student life has now ended, and you have been introduced to society for service. Strive diligently to serve this suffering society and its needy people sincerely in the field of healthcare. Share your knowledge with others, align your character and conduct with the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH), and avoid arrogance.”
During the ceremony, Mr. Haji Mohammad Siddiq Mohmand, head of Kandahar's Mohmand International Hospital, and Dr. Zia Rahman Meshk Alamzai, Vice-Chancellor of Academic Affairs at Kandahar University, along with representatives of the graduates' parents, delivered speeches. On behalf of the parents, Professor Mahmood Pasarlai expressed his joy that his son, along with 60 other doctors, graduated from the Faculty of Medical at Kandahar University and will now begin serving society. He thanked the university, the Faculty of Medicine, and its officials and professors for providing excellent professional training to the graduates over six years.
At the end of the program, the Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration of the Ministry of Higher Education, Mawlawi Hafiz Mohammad Hamid Hasib, congratulated the graduates. He emphasized the value of education and encouraged the graduates not to stop their academic journey here but to pursue higher studies and specialization. He assured them that the Ministry of Higher Education is working to establish more programs for specialization so that they can continue their education within the country.
Mr. Hasib stated: “Every field of knowledge should be pursued for the pleasure of Almighty Allah. With the help of this knowledge, we must serve society so that Allah and His Messenger (PBUH) are pleased with us, and we achieve success in both this world and the Hereafter.”
Finally, other professors and two graduates, representing their peers, also spoke and pledged to serve the people with sincerity and integrity in the healthcare sector. After the speeches, graduation certificates were distributed to all the graduates, and the ceremony concluded with prayers.
